PLE is scored on an aggregate scale across all four subjects, from 4 (best) to 36. UNEB groups results into four divisions:
- Division One: aggregate 4–12
- Division Two: aggregate 13–23
- Division Three: aggregate 24–29
- Division Four: aggregate 30–34
